Stitch Fix Reveal- Spring 2017

Hey y'all!

I was super excited to get my stitch fix a couple days early this month and couldn't wait to share it with you.

For those of you not familiar with stitch fix, it is a subscription service that will shop for you, mail the clothes to you for you to try on at home and then you can send back what you do not like.  If you are like me and ALWAYS busy, stitch fix is an easy way to get to shop and not have to go to a mall or even leave the house.  It is super easy.  You have a stylist that you tell what you would like to get and they shop for you!

I will show you what I received in this fix and then tell you a little more about my subscription.  I only get my fix every three months, which I love so I get a couple new items for each season, but they do have them as frequent every two weeks.

My note to my stylist, Larissa:

Hey!  I loved the last box, it was right up my alley!  In the next box, I would love to see dresses.  I have been watching a ton of Hart of Dixie and they always have on the cutest dresses.  Plus, we are heading to Europe soon and I would love to have some dresses that I can wear there!  Thanks!

My note back from my stylist:

So here's what I got in my fix:

Rebekah Dress
$78.00
Definitely Keeping

I cried.  I seriously cried when I pulled this out of the box because I knew that THIS was the dress that I would be kissing my husband under the eiffel tower in.
You can't tell the detail on the top well in the photo but it is perfection in a dress.

Lenaya Knit Maxi Dress
$58.00
Keeping

Hallelujah y'all!  This dress wasn't 18 inches longer than my little 5 foot nothing self. It is actually the perfect length and the material is REALLY soft.  I think I will take her advice and wear this on the plane for sure!

Alyson Knit Dress
$54.00
Not Keeping

This dress just wasn't my cup of tea.  It was a little tight fitting and I am all about the flowy but I could definitely see where it could be cute on the right person.

Chana Embroidered Dress
$74.00
Keep

Y'all.  I love this dress.  It is very lightweight and the embroidery is precious.  I also loved that it is mostly a neutral with a touch of color!
Matt Knit T-Shirt Dress
$58.00
Not Keeping

This is a really cute dress but I just didn't think it was $58 cute, ya know?

Like I said with stitch fix, you can decide what you would like to keep and send back the rest.  It is a $20 fee for your stylist to shop for you but if you end up buying something, that $20 comes off the total.  They also give you a 25% discount if you buy all 5 pieces.  I have had fix that come with shoes, pants, shirts, dresses and jewelry.  It really is up to what you would like to see in your fix!

Relationships - Weekend Recap

Maybe that was a weird name for this blog post but honestly, I can't think of a better one when I think about our weekend.  It really was a weekend of celebrating the relationships in our lives.  By relationships, I mean family time, friendships and of course our romantic relationship as well!

I will be the first to admit that sometimes, I just get too busy for my own good and because of that some relationship suffer. This is something I am continuously working on in my life.  I am trying my hardest to carve time out of our schedule for relationship building and maintenance, whether it is a simple thinking of you card, text or making time for a life event our friends are having, I want to be there.

After this weekend, my heart is just so full and ready for the week ahead!

(Side note: weekend updates will more than likely include grainy iphone photos and I ain't mad about it)

Friday night was filled with sister time.  See I am not one to go on girls night outs, it is just not my thing but Friday I was invited to dinner and the junior league attic sale with my lovely sister-in-love and I couldn't pass up that chance! I really enjoy being able to pour into this relationship.  Coming from a family with 5 girls, having a sister is something that makes me who I am and I am so glad to be able to have another one. plus... super cute decoration finds.

Friday night ended with a sleepover for the dood with both of his cousins.  What a loud, I mean fun, night it was!  They stayed and played all day saturday... OUTSIDE! It is nearly impossible to get the xbox kid outside now a days so I am considering this a win.

This is another relationship that we maintained this weekend... Lowes.  I am not sure it is a healthy relationship but it is probably one that we maintain the most.

Saturday night, included a sushi date with the hubby.  We plan a date night once a month.  These nights are super special to us. With having a senior family member in the home, it is almost as worrisome as having another child.  We don't like to leave them for long but these nights where it is just the two of us, really are a bit of fresh air.

Sunday was filled to the brim with gatherings.

We started the morning at church. It almost didn't happen.  When I woke up I was just NOT FEELING IT.  I am so so glad I pushed through.  My relationship with God is one of the most important to me and and when I start my week surrounded by him, I am so inspired to go into my week with my head high and heart full.

Next, we enjoyed two showers!

A baby shower for our friends Mike and Yelena.  I have known Mike since high school and Kevin has known him for over ten years.  It is so funny how Kevin and I have known and been around the same people for years only to come to the same place at the same time.

After the baby shower, we went to a sweet gender reveal for one of our favorite couples.  Another little girl to spoil is on the way and if she is anything like her big sister, I am going to have to go back to work!

Even after typing this, I am so overwhelmed by how much love this weekend held!  I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend and I am looking forward to sharing more with you this week!

March Madness

Nope, this post is definitely not about basketball.

I am a goal setter, a planner and a dreamer.

Often times I find myself making unrealistic goals that I would NEVER expect of anyone else.

My husband reminds me all that time that expectations are not defined lines.  I will not get everything I want to get done completed in the time that I would like, and that is ok.  I am not going to sit here and tell you that I am okay with this.  I'm not. I always want to do more.  I am also not going to sit here and preach at you to "slow down" or "give more time for yourself" because I am awful at doing both of those things.

I am getting better though.  At the beginning of this year I told myself that my word for 2017 would be slow.  I wanted to take life slower.  I also wanted to be slower to anger and slower to react.  I would say I have been able to do this about 30% of the time. Definitely better at the slow to react thing than slowing life down but again, I am learning.

There was a weekend a couple weeks back where our family didn't have anything planned.  It felt like this was the first time in ages and I noticed myself during the week scrambling to fill it in.  That is when K stopped me and asked me to just let us not have anything planned.  Wow.  I can not tell you how amazing that weekend was.  As a wedding planner, weekends were my work week and after two full years of weddings at least 2 weekends out of the month, I find myself wanting "nothing planned" weekends now more than ever.

I finish up this babble with this.  I was sitting in our backyard yesterday and noticed all the flowers in bloom.  They are gorgeous but those azaleas are about a month too early and then it hit me, maybe God allowed them to bloom in his own time.  They were blooming at the time I needed refreshing and color. I, like those flowers, am ready to bloom into a new phase in life. A life much slower and purposefully planned.

Now to my March goals:

1. I would like to continue eating clean and whole foods.
2. I would like to purposely plan at least two weekends a month with minimal activity.
3. I would like to get my garage cleaned out (finally)
4. I am going to say no to putting anything else on my plate for this month.  If it isn't on the calendar as of today, plan it for April.

Not too many goals this month.

I will let you know how it goes and I will leave you with this.

Be still and know that I am God - Psalms 46:10
Not only my favorite verse but my daily affirmation.

Here I go again...

So here I go again.  Another blog attempt.

Something is different this time.

Life.  Life is very different.  Priorities have changed.

I have tried the fashion blog thing.  I have tried the witty blog thing.  I even tried the we're a perfect family, when we clearly we're not thing.  This blog is different.

I am so excited about this blog. I am excited that it will serve as a memory keeper for where we are in life.  I am excited to have an outlet to write what is on my heart when I just want alone time and it is no where to be found.  I am excited to share my thoughts and ideas with my family and friends (and new friends at that).

So what is this blog going to be about?  It is going to be about life. The life of a stay at home creative that just wants to make the world pretty, her husband and grandmother proud and wants to raise a kid that isn't a jerk.

It will feature day to day stories of our lives. It will feature decorating around our house. It will feature adventures, advice, tip, tricks and probably really bad english skills y'all.  I apologize now.

Can't wait to add to this blog and to share our live, love and laughter here.

Here is to new beginnings!
